I've had a concealed carry permit for over 20 years but I really resist carrying a pistol because it required that I am awake, aware and diligent every minute I have it on my body. Neither convenient nor comfortable to be on alert every minute which is a requirement to carry. It is a useful tool and I have carried a firearm for weeks at a time but it was a relief to not have the responsibility when not necessary. Unfortunately, I have had the impulse lately to take a firearm with me when I go out with the increase in problems here in Seattle. So far I have resisted the idea but the day is probably coming when I think the risks out there to everyday people outweigh my resistance to take my firearm with me everywhere I go.
